Our Work in The Philippines

In The Philippines we are proactively working on reopening pathways for new projects as the country, and our in-country team,  recover from the devastating effects of the  COVID-19 pandemic.  One of our priorities is the reopening of Shining Jewels Sustainable Farm and effective ways of providing education for children.

The farm continues to yield produce which supports the maintenance of farm and school infrastructure.

We are also  exploring other projects such as Jungle Schools, a basic primary education for children in remote areas. The idea is bringing the school to the children, instead of the children walking for hours to towns to attend local schools. This provides safety to the families who can focus on their lives, which opens up opportunities to create robust communities. Mostly applicable to mountainous locations, this project will cater for young children in many locations and islands where family settlements are spread out in pockets with agriculture and animal production providing the primary source of living.
